Here’s a list of my favourite iPhone apps;
iQuran
Beautiul Quran app for the iPhone with a great search function and an English translation. A must have for Muslims with an iPhone. You can search through the Quran either in Arabic or the translation.
Quran Reader
Another great Quran app that replicates the most popular printed Quran. It has the same page layout an numbering. Great if you are like me, the kind of person that memorized the Quran via the verse location in a page. But make sure you have a good eye sight as the font may be too small to some.
Tweetie
This is te best Twitter app bar none. Smooth interface, fast loading time and an Instapaper integration. Uber cool.
Facebook on iPhone is the best Facebook on a mobile platform.
Awesome Note
A beautiful note taking app for the iPhone with beautiful themse and folders. If you use the default iPhone notes app for note taking, this is Notes after a plastic surgery and steroids. It could also be used as a to-do app too, though I prefer another app for that.
Evernote
This is another cool way of taking notes on the iPhone. You could snap a photo, record a voice note or type in your thoughts. It will then be synced with Evernote on the cloud as well as on your Mac/Windows.
Being a GTD junkie, I find thinks th best capturing tool.
Things
This is the best GTD/To-do app there is. And best of all it syncs with Things for Mac. The simple beautiful interface coupled with a fast way to manage your tasks, Things is a must have if you are into GTD.
WeDict/Dictionary.com
I just love dictionaries. These two are free and yet they are great.
Al-Mawrid al-Qarib
I my opninion, the best Arabic - English and English -Arabic dictionary on the planet of Al-Mawrid. Now there’s a Mawrid for you on the iPhone. It may not have as many entries as the physical dictionary, but with 33,000 entries, it should enough for most of us.
Did I say that I love dictionaries?
Instapaper If you love reading websites, this is a cool app to read websites offline. There is an Instapaper bookmarklet forbyoyr browser and with one click you could have your websites with you on your iPhone and read it offline.
Tumblr
Well that’s what I’m using to write this entry.
Keynote Remote
If you do a lot of presentation, this app is a must have. You could control your presentation from your iPhone as well as read notes from it. It may not enough to substitute a proper clicker, but nonetheless, a handy backup.
Convertbot
The most beautiful conversion app out there. The interface and animation is just so pretty that turns a simple conversion app into something that you want to find a reason to use daily.
Camerabag
If you are into photography, get this app. It turns your stock iPhone camera into a variety of cameras with all different kind of cool effects. You’ll have a Helga camera, a lomo, a mono, high contrast mono, old film feel and many more. I was bored with the stock camera until I discovered Camerabag and Photoshop Mobile.
Photoshop Mobile
A must have for all iPhonographers. It’s a powerful photo editing app in your iPhone and the best thing is that it is free! There is a free lunch after all. But the sad thing is that so far, it is only available on the US app store. So unless you have a US account, you’ll have to b patient.
Total Baby
Being a new parent, this app is a lifesaver. Ok it might be a bit of an exageration to call it a lifesaver, but the app tracks your baby’s feeding time, sleep time, poops, doctors visits, immunization and so much more. My wife fell in love with the app the day our baby was born.
iSubha
This is another great Islamic app that mimics the rosary beads Muslims use to chant their prayers. Although there’s a lot of room for improvements, like assigning specific number of repitition for a specific type of dhikr, the app is a cool way to do dhikr 2.0 style.
Self Help Classics
If you’re into self help books, this is a must have. It contains most of the classic self help books beginning with the icon of self help, Think and Grow Rich. It is nice to always have that book wherever I go so I could reinforce positive thoughts no matter where I am.
Daily Finance
Beats the crap out of th built it Stocks app. I find it being even better than Bloomberg app.
iBluesky
I’m a mind map junkie. I organize my thoughts and ideas using mind maps since I was a little kid. And this now helps me to brainstorm ideas on a mindmap my iPhone and email it out on various formats like OPML, Novamind’s format, or even an image.
Although I still carry a pen and physical notebook around when I’m working, I prefer to just carryy iPhone around when I’m not working. And ideas come just about anywhere, and I know I’ll always have a way to map mind.
So those are my 20 favouite apps that I use the most and the reason why I can’t see myself on any other phones in the near future.
