I am a bit of a paranoid when it comes to back ups. Since 2003, I’ve always had a back up of my computer. But back then, with a 40GB HDD, I could have the computer backed up into an iPod.
Now that I have so much more data compared to 2003, and my work in software development revolves around my computer, and with my nomadical lifestyle, back up could not be more important. So here is my paranoid back up set up:
Now has all these back ups paid off? Yes. When I was in Sydney, my MacBoo Pro acted up. I had to send it to the Apple Store and they had to format my machine. So I send it in, one day, and got my machine back the same day and restored everything back from Time Machine with my mobile back up. And I’m back working the very next day even when I’m about 5000km away from home :)Comments
